Membership is open to women of Lancaster and the surrounding area.
We are affiliated with the California Federation of Woman’s Clubs with over 44,000 members in more than 650 clubs statewide, and with General Federation of Woman’s Clubs, International, whose worldwide membership exceeds several million volunteers.
The California Federation of Woman's Clubs (C.F.W.C.) motto “Strength United is Stronger,” reminds us that “In Unity There is Strength,” and that together we make a difference. C.F.W.C. was organized in 1900.
The Lancaster Woman's Club is one of the 20 clubs in the Sierra-Cahuenga District. There are 25 Districts in the California Federation of Woman's Clubs. Everyone belonging to a club in California has been logging four million volunteer hours and $3 Million dollars on 25,000 projects annually. One major accomplishment was being instrumental in the white line down the middle of our highways.
GFWC, founded in 1890, is the largest and oldest nonpartisan, non-denominational woman’s service organization in the world. Its headquarters are located in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, D.C
Our club is in the General Federation of Woman's Clubs (G.F.W.C.) International Sierra–Cahuenga District. Area "C". This district was organized in 1956 and incorporated in 1957.
The General Federation of Woman's Clubs, organized in 1890, is the oldest and largest volunteer woman's service organization in the world, with over 10 million members in 40 countries worldwide. A few of it's accomplishments have been the establishment of 75% of the nation's Libraries; a model for the juvenile courts; Legislation for eight hour workday, child labor laws and equal pay/equal work and the founding of G.F.W.C. Woman's History and Resource Center in Washington D.C.
